Progression Update?
Progression. It's sometimes a scary word and many associates it with change. Some people are not ready for change or even want to change. However, time is always moving and it changes the things around us. No one can ever escape change and we should accept it. Recently though, I have gotten a bit of progress on the rational argument and now have a clearer understanding of it.
In class, we were given some resources that allowed for a bit of guidance for this rational argument. One of the resources given was a rational argument from Alex Wojda. We already were given this resource when we worked on the documentary project. However, now we were able to use this resource more effectively. When I looked at the rational argument example, I saw what I was doing wrong immediately. I focused on getting the reasons for procrastination rather than picking or looking at a particular angle of an argument. The "reasons for procrastination" wasn't an arguable subject so I had to go back to the drawing board.
After looking back on my ideas again, I decided to go with the benefits of swearing. Also, to add, the topic is the same as my micro-theme. Before settling on this topic, I tried looking for sources on the benefits of procrastination. Though, I was unable to find any good sources for that topic. I was able to find multiple sources on the benefits of swearing. Gathering around 2-3 academic sources from google scholar and around 3-4 reputable sources. With these sources, I was able to get around two pages for my draft. I was able to have some real progression on this rational argument assignment.
Although, I am still not extremely confident that what I have for a draft is anywhere remotely close to what we need. I do plan on referring back to the rational argument from Alex Wojda for help. The good thing is that I have an idea of what the structure of this rational argument needs to be. I think that what I should do for the time being is get my draft done, revise it multiple times and use my resources when I get stuck.
