The Birth of the Asian Stop Shop

When I went into high school, I still had money worries. I remember that when I went into the cafeteria to buy lunch I would get 2 chicken wraps ($2 each) and 1 Gatorade bottle ($2). I would be surprised at how expensive just a bottle of Gatorade costs. I wanted to be frugal with my money but still really wanted to buy that Gatorade. So another business idea came up and popped into my mind.

I found out that If I were to buy my Gatorade from Aldi, it would cost much less than it did at school. I would then buy these 8 packs of fruit punch Gatorade and bring 2 with me to school. My friend saw I was drinking Gatorade before our lunch period and asked if he could buy one from me. I took the other Gatorade from my bag and asked for $2. He gladly took the deal and both me and my friend were happy. I had made a profit off the Gatorade and he got his Gatorade and would have to wait till lunch to buy one. That moment, that first sale with Gatorade marked the first purchase of the Asian Stop Shop.

After a while, I got tired of Gatorade and wanted to drink coca cola. But my struggles and self-consciousness about money got in the way. However, another idea popped into my mind. I would buy a 12-pack of coca cola for $4 and sell each can for $1 at school. When I went to school, I brought 4 cans of coca cola with me. I managed to sell 3 of the cans for a dollar and had one for myself to enjoy. This process kept on continuing until I brought 12 cans of coca-cola into my bag and sold every single one of them. Until my friend and future business partner of the Asian Stop Shop brought up this business proposition. The proposition was to create a business called the Asian Stop Shop that sells soda and candy. I instantly agreed to the idea and we started to sell candy and soda to students in the school for profit.

I had essentially taken my desire and greed for wanting Gatorade and made it into a small business. If someone were to be in my shoes, they would have seen just two options. They would either not buy the Gatorade from the cafeteria or bite the bullet and buy the Gatorade. I have instead created a third option where I would get what I want and would even make money would out having to go out and get a job or beg my parents. I found out that with a little bit of creativity, desire, and hustle, anything pertaining to money is possible.
